Bishop
Noland Episcopal Day School provides a superior education for the whole child —
training and challenging the mind and body and nurturing the spirit — so that
each one who comes to the school leaves with a foundation of academic skills, spiritual
awareness and self-esteem upon which can be built the dreams of a lifetime.
The school has provided educational excellence for children from our area since 1953. EDS offers a well-recognized program for students from two years old through eighth grade. The faculty and staff are dedicated to providing an outstanding and challenging academic program tailored to the needs of each learner.
Small
classes and a diverse student body make EDS an institution of academic
excellence. The traditional liberal arts curriculum is expanded by a full
complement of enrichment subjects and activities. Skills in leadership,
communication and social interaction also are promoted as essential elements of
each student's overall education. The curriculum prepares graduates to attend
high schools or boarding schools with competitive admissions
standards.
EDS is wholly owned by Good Shepherd and operates as a ministry and outreach to the community. The parish takes an active role in the diverse life of the school. The church is integrally connected with the administration, faculty and students of EDS in a healthy, life-giving relationship. Both church and school are strengthened as a result of this unique relationship. Together, we make decisions, direct activities and plan for the future of the academically challenging and spiritually nurturing institution.
