Tired
of eating the same old burger at your desk on Friday afternoons? Try
a Bach’s Lunch instead.
On Fridays during the season of Lent, the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd offers Bach’s Lunch – a refreshing spring series of five noontime concerts that are free and open to the public. A catered light luncheon follows.
The 30-minute performances feature some of the Lake Area’s finest musicians in genres ranging from jazz to classical.
The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd is
offering the series for those in the community who seek a less traditional
introspective path during the Lenten season. Bach’s Lunch now will be offered
at the church annually.
“St. Augustine once said that those who sing well pray twice,”
“Music has always been an important part of
Christian worship and tradition. During the season of Lent, one is asked to be
reflective and introspective, and music allows us to enter places in our souls
that we seldom take the time to visit otherwise.”
Concerts begin promptly at 12 p.m., with lunch
concluding around 1 p.m. to allow Lake Area professionals to attend the series
during the workday.
