Through the creative and caring participation of leaders and children alike, our education program offers the opportunity for learning, nurture and expression of the Christian community.

From hearing and telling Bible stories, to sharing and listening to each other's God experiences. Whether by crafts or songs, banners or discussion, new discovery is fostered within these small education communities. Within each class experience, every participant receives God's real and present love.

Good Shepherd offers classes for children in pre-kindergarten (age 3) through high school at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday, during the same time the adult courses are offered.

Preschoolers and kindergarteners learn the scripture stories through imaginative crafts, song and other hands-on activities. Via a distinctly Episcopal curriculum, elementary school-aged students learn basic theology and church history giving them a general foundation to explore the faith story while fifth- and sixth-graders discover insights about their own faith. Those in junior and senior high enter into engaging discussions about contemporary faith and ethics issues.

Welcome back to Sunday School 2007-2008!  The Staff and Faith Weaver Teachers finally saw all those beautiful and handsome children in church!  This year is going to be filled with exciting Music, Bible Activities, Bible Games, Bible Stories and Crafts! Each class will continue to learn about God, His beloved son Jesus and other Bible role models.  Sunday School students will learn the importance of prayer and how we use prayer throughout our lives to speak with God and much more.  We will have weekly challenges for every “little lamb” that attends Sunday School.  The following Sunday when you meet with your class you get to share how you achieved your weekly challenge with God.  These challenges will be placed in the bulletin with a class photo.  The “Big Sheep” of Good Shepherd curious about what Children’s Christian Education is doing will be involved with outreach projects that are of interest to them.  Keep an eye on Children’s Christian Education to see what outreach project is selected.  One Sunday a month we will  have a class together to worship God, sing, and pray.

Sunday School is still seeking individuals to spend their time, faith, knowledge and wisdom with the Sunday School Children.  We need teachers so everyone can have a Sunday off here and there.  We also need helpers. You can be here every Sunday, 2 Sundays a month or just when needed.  High School Seniors ...do you feel too old for youth Sunday School? need Apostolic hours?  Consider being a helper.

Come share in the fun of Children’s Christian Education...it promises to be fun, fulfilling and the chance of a lifetime!

FaithWeavers has an outreach project to support our local troops in Afghanistan!  There are Soldiers from Lake Charles, Jennings, Crowley and other surrounding areas who volunteered and are on their 2nd or 3rd tour of duty.  They are in need of certain items that are not getting to them because they are in the field fighting.  The Sunday School Children will be BRIEFED on a list of items needed to accomplish our   OUTREACH MISSION.
