Many of our youth
attend Camp Hardtner
Summer Camp, a week-long Christian summer camp in the piney woods of central
Louisiana. Sessions range from First Camp, a weekend camp experience for
second-graders and their parents, to Senior High Camp.
For more than 50 years, Camp Hardtner has been the keystone to youth ministry in the Diocese of Western Louisiana. The camp provides a loving Christian community for youth — a place where they can explore important faith issues in a non-threatening environment. The camp experience takes place through music, worship and play — both as community at large and in smaller groups. The guiding dictum for each camp is that God loves each one of us, that each individual and the world around us are to be respected as the creation of God, and that the community provides the means for living in God's love. Campers are then encouraged to take this experience with them into the world.
Summer
camp applications will be mailed
to those attending last summer’s
camp sessions as well as to each parish and mission in the diocese.
An application for Summer Camp can be obtained from the
church office.
