USED BOOK SALE

ABOUT OUR BOOK SALE

Good Shepherd's Used Book Sale is a big deal! We have one of the largest used book sales in southwest Louisiana. People come from all over the country to buy books at our sale. We have a dedicated team of volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the year to make this event the huge success that it is. Each year we begin collecting books around the first of September. We then collect, sort, and box the books for months, running through February. We also collect puzzles, Cds, and old records. Once we close the collecting process; we begin preparing for the sale, which takes place toward the end of March each year. The sale runs through the weekend closest to March 20-22 including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Friday and Saturday 8:00 am until 6:00 pm. Sunday 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. The money raised from the sale is always used for charitable work throughout the greater Lake Charles community. Most of the funds help to support the efforts and services of local community non-profits, with some of the proceeds going toward our own Brown Bag program. If you love books and like helping others; then come on out for our Book Sale in March, and you can always donate them back in September after you've read them. And if you're looking for ways to help; we always need volunteers to help sort and box books from September through February. Please do not drop off books before September or after the end of February. Thank you for your support.
